If you or someone you know is under the age of 18 and is being physically, emotionally or sexually abused and/or neglected, please call the LA County Child Abuse Hotlineat (800) 540-4000 to report the incident. Please be aware that you may call anonymously. You must have the child’s address in order for the Department of Children and Family Services to take your report. If you are not sure whether a particular incident is reportable, you may call for a consultation. If you live in a different county, call 411 for the hotline number in your area.

If you or someone you know is age 65 or over and is being emotionally, physically, sexually or financially abused and/or neglected, please call the LA County Elder Abuse Hotlineat (877) 477-3646 to report an incident or receive consultation about a particular situation. If you live in a different county, call 411 for the hotline number in your area.

California Law allows mothers 72 hours following the birth of their baby to relinquish all their parental rights by giving up the baby with no legal consequences. The baby may be turned in to the staff at a hospital emergency room or a fire station. If you or someone you know is pregnant, is not ready to be a mother and has plans to hurt her baby, please call Safe Haven Hotline at (877) 725-5111 for detailed information. All calls may be made anonymously.

If you or someone you know is contemplating committing suicide (not only fantasizes about dying but also has the intention, plan, and/or means to hurt herself/himself), you may call Suicide Prevention Hotline anonymously at (877) 727-4747 for support and direction.

If you need help locating resources in your community such as mental health clinics, hospitals, domestic violence shelters, AA meetings, drug rehabilitation facilities, parenting classes, etc, you may call the LA County Information Hotline at (800) 339-6993 or visit www.HealthyCity.org. If you live in a different county, you may call the above number and ask for the appropriate number in your area.
